Christmas Movies Released On Netflix

Hi Friends!

Today I want to talk about Netflix Christmas Movies!!!!

Netflix is a great place to watch cheesy, playful, and corny movies. This year I have decided to watch as many Christmas movies I can find by Netflix.  I have picked 4 to tell you about on this post, and they were all released this year!

Let's go!

1. The Christmas Chronicles

The Christmas Chronicles (2018), Darby Camp, Judah Lewis, Kurt Russell

I LOVED THIS MOVIE. This movie is like Santa Claus meets The Grinch That Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. It's so fun yet witty. I was laughing for a good portion of the time and the jokes are great. The concept is beautiful and reinforced your Christmas spirit to continue to believe. I have been recommending this movie to everyone and if you are reading this and I haven’t told you to go watch it. GO WATCH IT!

2. El Camino Christmas

Netflix whatever you are doing please don’t stop! Tim Allen is not your Santa Claus in this movie, but instead a drunk veteran who is trying to forget his past. Jessica Alba is a young reporter trying to make a name for herself. As for Dax Shepard, he is just a small town guy trying to make a career for himself in law enforcement. This random little group of big names was exactly what I was looking for in a dark comedy Christmas movie. This movie is not your typical Christmas movie, instead, watch a fun funny and sad dark comedy that takes place on Christmas Eve. I highly recommend watching this movie over the holidays, however, I do not recommend for children.

3. The Princess Switch

The Christmas Switch (2018) Vanessa Hudgens wearing a Chicago hat… in Chicago.

The Christmas Switch (2018) Vanessa Hudgens wearing a Chicago hat… in Chicago.

Vanessa Hudgens plays two roles of a baker from Chicago and the Duchess of Montenaro and future princess. My only actual issue with this movie is their lack of props and location. I was trying to find the budget for this film but it blows my mind that they could not purchase rights for a logo on a hat for the Bears or the Cubs to indicate she is from Chicago. As someone from Chicago, it’s upsetting to not see one iconic location. NOT EVEN THE SKYLINE. So, I started digging around to see if I could find the budget for this film and I found nothing. Netflix, YOU ARE BETTER THAN THIS.

Overall, if you want a cheesy hallmark looking Christmas movie or if you are Vanessa Hudgens fan I highly recommend. However, you will see nothing that indicates that they are from Chicago aside from a hat that says “Chicago.”

4. A Christmas Prince: Royal Wedding

After learning about this sequel coming out I was really excited. Last year I loved A Christmas Prince. It was one of my favorite movies and I was excited to watch the royal wedding. This movie is super relatable as we all just watched the royal wedding of Meghan Merkle and Prince Harry last May. This was a similar excitement with a little more content. Except, it was disappointing. The characters were a little too extreme and the built up to the wedding wasn’t fulfilling. I wish they would have taken another approach for conflict perhaps something related to the couple and not the country. Although, I was disappointed I was pretty happy for the sequel. I hope they have another movie that can be titled Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. I hope Netflix milks the concept of the Royals a little longer.

Well, friends, that’s all I have for you. I hope you enjoy these holiday movies this season. Feel free to reach out with comments on the post and follow us on Instagram and facebook @Yupproductions.
